"Grey's Anatomy" star not happy about child support ruling

"Grey's Anatomy" fans in Washington and beyond are typically big fans of Jesse Williams, the actor who plays Doctor Jackson Avery on the show. While the character Williams plays faces stress or emotional challenges in the series, it's fiction and, as such, doesn't impact his real life. However, the stress he has been dealing with in a child support battle with his former wife is another situation altogether, and it's definitely real.

Williams and his ex have two children, for whom he has been ordered to pay more than $50,000 per month in support. He also provides his former spouse with $50,000 in monthly spousal support payments. That's why he was upset with the court's recent ruling to increase his child support payments.

In fact, he took steps to appeal the decision, stating that his wife hasn't been forthright regarding their children's needs. He further stated that he and wife always tried hard during marriage to keep expenses low and teach their children to live simple lives. He says his ex is getting them used to an extravagant lifestyle that they had agreed was not how they wanted their kids to be raised.

When a parent believes a former spouse is trying to deceive the court, he or she can raise those concerns in court. It will be necessary to provide evidence that substantiates the accusation. In this case, Williams cited the fact that he and his former wife always made home-cooked meals, bought inexpensive furniture and took the kid on very simple outings, specifically so they would never get used to an extravagant lifestyle. A Washington family law attorney could provide support to any parent in this state facing similar child support problems.
